Wellbeing Rituals

Well-being is about living in alignment with our true nature. This means taking care of and honoring everything that constitutes our entire being - mind, body, and soul - in our daily life. Many of us are good at setting up structures that have us in a fixed scheme and help us ‘be healthy’ in the body and get things done. However, a big part of being well is to be open, present in our bodies, and still enough in the mind to listen to our hearts when they tell us what is needed for us to nurture ourselves.

Shower Nurture
- a time to breathe, be present & open up to creativity

Sometimes we have very little time and we can’t change it because a baby needs us or something else is pressuring. In these times finding small spaces to breathe and connect is crucial for us to not lose ourselves.

PRACTICE

  • Feel the water hit your skin. Notice what it feels like.

  • Bing attention to your shoulders and let them drop down. Now breathe into your belly.

  • Wake up your senses by using lovely scented shower gel - maybe one that nourishes your skin and cares for the planet at the same time. But you know; start with you.

  • Connect to how you’re rinsing away all other people’s energy from your sphere.

  • Cry if you need to. Sing if you feel to. Dance if the urge is there. Or simply be still. It’s your 5 minutes. Let your soul guide you.

  • Wash your hair if you’ve got time and rub your scalp with love. Feel the sensation of being cared for by the fingers of a human who loves you. That’s YOU loving YOU.

  • Rinse off and step out when you are ready. Try to take your breath awareness with you - but know that you can always come back to it whenever needed if you forget.

  • Spread love like it was confetti for the rest of the day; knowing that you started the day by filling YOU up.

You may not have more than 5 minutes, but if you do have this, then make sure you tune in to you for these 5 minutes.

Friday Flowers

Beauty matters. It’s not just a nice to have, it’s essential for us to thrive. There’s beauty in smiles, in music, in tragedy or grief. There’s beauty in friendships, romance, and in all other things …if we look for it. This includes finding beauty in the mundane little things we do during the day and acts we take for ourselves. Our suggestion for something to remind you of beauty is to create a ritual where you gift yourself flowers each Friday. Our suggestion for something to remind you of beauty is to create a ritual where you gift yourself flowers each Friday.

PRACTICE

Each week, right before the weekend; you get yourself a beautiful bunch of flowers. This way you get to enjoy them the most but usually, they’ll stay for the week.

It’s a small thing and you may buy or pick them, but surrounding yourself with beautiful things such as flowers is an act to remind yourself that you’re worthy. Tiny token, big impact - if you attach the meaning. Maybe flowers aren’t your thing. If not, then find whatever beauty is for YOU.

The thing about well-being rituals is that they are time and acts we make to care for and nourish ourselves. Not only does this mean that we make this and ourselves a priority; it also means that we begin to treat ourselves with value, which helps us to set standards for how we wish to be treated - by ourselves and by others.

Much love,
