Evening Ritual

Sleep is the foundation for everything. It’s the charger that gives us renewed energy, balances our hormones and it re-sets our minds. That is; if we are able to get into a sound state of sleep. Many of us don’t sleep well at night though because we’re so used to switching straight from one mindset mode to the next. When it comes to going to sleep, however, this doesn’t work since sleep is a collaboration between the body and the mind. So we need a bridge that can take us from day-time mode to rest mode.

To make bedtime and sleep a time you don’t want to miss, here’s our bedtime suggestion:

Bedtime Routine
- For More Energy & Nourishment

Going to bed at a reasonable hour is us prioritizing the US. It’s not boring or wasting our time which our mind may tell us. Sleep is well-being. It’s nurturing ourselves like caring for a dry plant with fresh water. When we do it a few times and feel into our senses, most of us will realize how much our body craves this. Slowing down. Resting. Nourishing. Turning inwards. To balance out all the acting and doing and focusing externally from ourselves that we spend our time on during the day. Here’s our suggestion for a good bedtime routine.

PRACTICE

  • Turn off your wifi around 9.30 pm or half an hour before going to sleep.

  • Take your time cleaning your face while connecting with the notion that you’re washing away the day’s smudge. Don’t rush and be slow at brushing your teeth.

  • See your bathroom like a transition or a tunnel that takes you from a higher gear of the day to a lower one. Maybe you put on some lovely cream or oils? Nurture your skin with your touch as you do it.

  • Maybe you listen to some lovely winding-down evening time music as you clear out for bed.

  • Go to bed around 10 pm. Give yourself time to read a book for about 30 minutes or allow yourself to simply feel into your breath. Put a hand on your belly and feel it go up on your inhale and down once you exhale. Notice your body, notice your breath. Allow yourself to do this for 10 minutes. Then turn off the lights and get some rest. Find a playlist in our music section below or go straight to this one with gentle tunes.

The thing about sleep is that it’s one of only two energy systems we have (sleep or food). This means that if we don’t rest our bodies will also crave more food, including sugary ones, to have the energy to power through whatever we ask of it. Rest is better. So see it works to find a beautiful bedtime routine that suits YOU.

Much love
