Craniosacral Therapy

What Is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works on the physical body and on the central nervous system to provide a chance to regenerate and heal – emotionally as well as physically. It seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and decrease stress from chronic injuries and emotional strain. Using gentle touch the treatment releases tension relieves pains and corrects dysfunctions in the body as it holistically harmonizes them via a fluid that runs between the cranium and the spine.

Benefits of Craniosacral Therapy.

Since this treatment works on muscles, organs and the face while relaxing and easing our emotional state, it improves our nervous, hormonal and immune systems simultaneously. This way it affects our entire body and us as a whole being.

When tension and pain is released it relaxes the tiniest of muscles as we can let go. This not only helps us relax things such as facial muscles (which prevents wrinkles), it also provides an energetic lift as a more relaxed body is in a state that best facilitates healing. This is also the best state for beauty to thrive and grow.

The benefits to this treatment are many, yet all bodies work differently so there is not one absolute outcome from this form of treatment. However, as the body eases from tension everything improves and people have reported many benefits such as a fewer migraine headaches, less neck and back pain, and less inflammation of the joints that connect the lower jaw and skull. Also, since the cerebrospinal fluid transports important nutrients and removes toxins from the brain and spine, an improvement of imbalances in here can bring about better blood circulation and brain function as well as an increase in concentration and memory.

Finally, a study published in Behavioural Medicine also found that participants who received bodywork like Craniosacral Therapy had better quality sleep and fewer migraines than participants who didn’t. Everything in the body improves when we get quality sleep and we all know of the benefits sleep has on our appearance. Sounds like a divine treatment, no?

The Way Craniosacral Therapy Works

There’s a subtle rhythmic motion, a tide-like rhythm, which springs from every cell in the body, which can be detected in the cerebrospinal fluid, that bathes and cushions the brain and spinal cord. This motion is a direct expression of health and wellbeing in the body. Craniosacral therapists are trained to listen to the body in such a way that they can feel these expressions to get a sense of where the cranial rhythm isn’t expressing itself.

Once a therapist works on us it eases up tensions in areas that weren’t flowing optimally. This provides an energetic lift as the nervous system becomes balanced, which increases the blood flow in the area and helps nerve impulses function optimally again. Then it’s no longer necessary for the body to spend energy fighting pain.

“Whatever pain we feel – whether that springs from emotional or physical tension – will eventually be felt and held in the body. I believe that when we heal pains and alleviate stress and tension, the body will naturally shine with a beautiful glow, vibrant energy and smooth skin.

There are many beauty treatments out there, but the ones we’re putting forward here are treatments that work to balance the body. This way the beauty enhancements that arise are a natural effect of a better functioning body and emotional healing.”

Much love
